As part of the All-Ukrainian STEM Festival Spring 2025, West Ukrainian National University hosted STEM-WEEK, a series of events that open up the world of technology to young researchers.

One of the key meetings was a lesson on ‘Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: Modern Trends and Prospects’, which brought together students from the leading schools of Ternopil. The event was organised in cooperation with the Ternopil Municipal Methodological Centre for Scientific and Educational Innovations and Monitoring of the Department of Education and Science of the Ternopil City Council.

The participants learnt about the latest trends in robotics - from autonomous vehicles and drones to biomechanical systems and mechatronics. They discussed real-life examples of technology implementation in medicine, logistics, agriculture and industry. The focus was not only on technical aspects, but also on how engineering solutions change everyday life.

A special section was devoted to the potential of artificial intelligence: its use in defence, cybersecurity, forecasting, unmanned systems and analytics. The speaker emphasised the dynamic development of AI in Ukraine, including start-ups, tech clusters and educational programmes that train specialists of the future.

The practical part of the event was a real challenge and inspiration at the same time: using modern equipment, students created and tested their own robotic solutions. This allowed them to experience the sheer power of technical thinking and creativity in action.

The event was held at the STEM laboratory of the WUNU Communications Education and Research Centre, an innovative space created with the support of the Vovk Foundation (USA), BlueCheck Ukraine Charitable Foundation and the International Institute of Communications. This platform has become not only a tool, but a real environment for immersion in the world of science and technology.

The speaker and mastermind of the meeting was Andriy Burmistrov, founder of AVBSoft Mobile Solution, co-founder and CEO of MagneticOne MobileWorks. His experience, practical approach and sincere interest in youth development made the event unforgettable and inspiring for all participants.
