«Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe»
At the invitation of UNHCR, The UN Refugee Agency, Edita Grabar, Director of the Transcarpathian Education and Research Institute of West Ukrainian National University, took part in the Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe. The event was held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Representatives from more than 50 countries joined the discussion of important issues of humanity: inclusion, gender equality and the role of organisations in supporting refugees and stateless persons. The scientists discussed the difficulties in involving Ukrainian schoolchildren/refugee students in the national education system in the countries of temporary residence; the critically low level of education of Ukrainian refugees of Roma nationality; the challenges faced by IDPs in places of safe residence in Ukraine, in particular related to education; the recognition of Ukrainian higher education diplomas in the countries of residence of Ukrainian refugees, and many others.
As a result of the communication, ways to solve the problems were identified. The participants of the Regional Consultations with NGOs in Europe were happy to share their experience!
