The jubilee Fifth International Week has started at West Ukrainian National University in Ternopil.

In the context of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, the staff of WUNU remains determined not to give up and to overcome any obstacles, thus enabling Ukraine to preserve and increase its educational and scientific potential.

With a minute of silence, the participants honoured the eternal memory of the fallen defenders of Ukraine, among whom, unfortunately, are students and graduates of our university. We thank everyone who has given us the opportunity to work and study today.

This year's International Week is being held under the slogan "Resilience and Rebuilding through Internationalisation". The International Week was established in 2019 and has become a platform for networking, discussions and exchange of views.

The International Week, organised by West Ukrainian National University, is supported by the international community of reliable partners and friends from the Netherlands, Israel, Slovenia, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Norway, the United Kingdom, Germany, the Czech Republic, Turkey, India, Georgia, the United States, and Canada, who have stood shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine in defence of democratic values.

The International Week was opened by the Rector of West Ukrainian National University Oksana Desyatnyuk

By developing education, science, and implementing international projects, we are making our country stronger and thus bringing our victory over the enemy closer.

We learn together and learn from each other. We thank our foreign partners for taking the time and opportunity to participate in the Fifth International Week, as cooperation is the key to success, productive work and new achievements.

We would like to reiterate our commitment and sincere gratitude to our partners for effective international cooperation, development of scientific and educational spheres, volunteer assistance and comprehensive support of West Ukrainian National University. Rector Oksana Desyatniuk handed over the "Reliable Partner" award and cartridge cases painted in Ukrainian ornamentation to her international colleagues as a symbol of the courage and resilience of the Ukrainian people.

The guests took part in a roundtable discussion entitled "Community Resilience: Challenges, Ways of Development and Prospects".

The Education and Research Institute of Communications of WUNU also opened a unique Ukrainian negotiation club under the leadership of Philip Brown, a well-known expert in the field of negotiation, author of the innovative practical toolkit Negotiation Cards, founder and director of The Negotiation Club in the UK.
