Third International Scientific and Practical Conference "Social, Economic, Legal and Financial Challenges in the Context of Global Transformations"

 Current world order is undergoing intense transformation. New challenges in an environment of uncertainty are becoming a real test of the strength for states and their policies, and this requires effective solutions and makes us look for new opportunities and ways to overcome them.


On May 19, the Third International Scientific and Practical Conference "Social, Economic, Legal and Financial Challenges in the Context of Global Transformations", organized by the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of West Ukrainian National University, started its work at the Transcarpathian Education and Research Institute of WUNU.


The co-organizers - the University of Western Macedonia (Greece), Marmara University (Turkey), Bratislava University of Economics and Management (Slovakia), and the European Energy Security Association (Czech Republic).


Before the start of the plenary session, the participants had the opportunity to see an exhibition of silk paintings and a series of diplomatic gifts from FURSA PAINTING FOLK ART: jewelry, collectible stamps, women's designer scarves, as well as learn about successful cases of cultural diplomacy from Oksana Fursa and the Transcarpathian Art Hub.


Rector of West Ukrainian National University, Andriy Krysovatyy, opened the conference. Other speakers included the Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko, the Head of the Transcarpathian Military Administration Viktor Mykyta, Advisor to the Minister of the Ministry of Science and Innovation of the Czech Republic Taisiya Kryvoshey, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Tunisia and the State of Libya Volodymyr Khomanets, Acting Mayor of Svaliava Myroslava Skrypynets, Professor of the University of Western Macedonia Evangelos Siskos, Deputy Director of the Office of International Affairs and Academic Cooperation Mert Denizsi, President of the Academic Senate Stanislav Filip, Head of the Uzhhorod Society of Slovaks, Head of the T. H. Masaryk Club in Uzhhorod. Ivan Latko, Mayor of Berehovo, representative of the Hungarian community Zoltan Babyak, Director General of the Kvitka Polonyny Sanatorium, Suzirya LLC, Honored Doctor of Ukraine, Corresponding Member of the International Academy of Education and Science, Honorary Doctor of Ecology, Academician of the Ukrainian Technological Academy Pavlo Hanynets.


The conference covers the following topics: current issues of development of countries and regions in the modern system of international relations; political problems of international systems and global development; diplomacy in the context of global uncertainty: new challenges and priorities; international integration processes: modern values and trends; international and national security: theoretical and applied aspects; geo-economic space in the parameters of globalization; current issues of financial systems development; international information and public communications: current trends and development strategies; sustainable development paradigm: global and national dimensions; Ukraine in the context of modern civilizational changes: social, economic, legal and financial challenges; cultural diplomacy: tandem of art and politics; special topic "European integration and post-war recovery of Ukraine".


The conference also saw the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between West Ukrainian National University and the NGO Progressive. Rector Andriy Krysovatyy and Director Bohdan Ferens discussed areas, ideas and ways of further cooperation.
