Duration: 2026–2027
Project goal
The main goal of SUPERNOVA is to build a platform of knowledge and practical tools for Norwegian business, the public sector and civil society by deepening their understanding of Ukraine, its economic, social and institutional capacities, and by drawing on Ukrainian experience of resilience, adaptation and social partnership.
The project addresses challenges related to the war in Ukraine, migration trends, the integration of Ukrainian refugees, demographic changes, and the need for new models of international cooperation.
Key areas
SUPERNOVA combines educational, scientific and practical components. The project develops innovative courses and microcourses for graduate students, as well as for representatives of business, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations. Emphasis is placed on topics such as doing business in Ukraine, diversity management, social sustainability, investment opportunities and post-crisis recovery.
The project is based on a model of social partnership and co-creation, involving Ukrainian and Norwegian experts in the joint development of educational content, seminars, guest lectures and research initiatives.
Projected outcomes
The implementation of SUPERNOVA will help raise awareness of Ukrainian issues among Norwegian regional actors, develop new educational programmes and sustainable cross-sectoral networks, and integrate Ukrainian topics into the teaching and research programmes of Nord University and its partner institutions.
For West Ukrainian National University, participation in the project means deepening international academic cooperation, participating in the joint creation of courses, guest teaching, conducting graduate-level research, and strengthening WUNU's position as a reliable European partner in the fields of education, business, and public administration.
Contribution to development
SUPERNOVA makes a significant contribution to strengthening educational sustainability, developing human capital and building long-term partnerships between Ukraine and Norway. The project promotes the integration of Ukrainian experience into the European educational and professional space, supports regional development and creates new opportunities for cooperation in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine.
