Project Goal and Objectives: The project aims to develop a strategy to address the complex, multifactorial problem of migration caused by environmental changes within the EU, focusing on the need to establish legal and regulatory frameworks for protecting environmental migrants and providing support to policymakers, practitioners, students, and others in addressing this growing issue.



Project Objectives:

  • Development and enhancement of existing curricula and promotion of eco-migration awareness among students.
  • Creation and implementation of advanced training courses for civil servants, lawyers, NGO representatives, charitable organizations, and vulnerable groups.
  • Drafting a textbook on EU migration law.
  • Organizing a section within the framework of the "All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Student Conference 'Human Rights in the Modern World: Security, Pandemic, Climate Change'."
  • Organizing scientific events on migration and environmental literacy (including the impact of climate change) and fostering student research activities in the field of EU migration law.
  • Participation of working group members in conferences, round tables, webinars, seminars, and the publication of scientific professional articles on European migration law by the working group members.


Expected Project Outcomes:

  • Symposium on "Who is an Environmental Migrant and What Are Their Rights?" conducted in cooperation with the SMS Office in Ternopil Region (November 2024).
  • Organized and held a section dedicated to climate migration in the European Union within the annual ZUNU Faculty Conference (May 2025).
  • Actions dedicated to World Refugee Day conducted (June 2025-2026).
  • Updated curricula and courses related to European integration (September 2025).
  • Organized a walk themed "Stop Eco-Displacement: Be Informed" (September 2026).
  • Scientific publications prepared by working group members and students (November 2026).
  • Training on European Migration Law (Environmental Literacy and International Migration) conducted (April 2027).
  • Presentation of the prepared handbook on European Union Law (July 2027).
