Recently, Oksana Koval, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Communications of West Ukrainian National University, and Anastasia Martynevych, International Activities Coordinator, met with Matthias Herter, a renowned crisis management and negotiation specialist.

Mr Herter has an impressive track record in leading crisis management units in the Swiss Federal Police and the Bernese Cantonal Police. He has also served as President of the European Network of Advisory Groups on Kidnapping, Hostage Taking and Extortion for some time.

Between 2001 and 2022, Matthias Herter was actively involved in crisis management and kidnapping negotiations in Switzerland and across five continents. His work in these areas has given him extensive experience in dealing with complex situations and effective crisis management.

In 2023, Matthias Herter founded MSH Advice & Training, where he advises clients and trains law enforcement agencies in negotiation, teamwork and crisis management. His work helps organisations and teams to deal effectively with challenging situations, develop engagement strategies and manage crisis situations professionally at a high level.

The meeting with Matthias Herter was held to discuss further cooperation in areas of critical importance to Ukraine. The exchange of experience and knowledge in crisis management, negotiation and communications is very important for the country's development in the face of current challenges and threats. The parties discussed the possibility of joint projects, trainings and consultations aimed at improving the effectiveness of crisis management, as well as developing leadership and communication skills in times of instability and emergencies.
