 Students of West Ukrainian National University, Anastasia Matviishyn, Anna Knysh and Anastasia Melnychuk, recently participated in the prestigious IASAS Student Leader Global Summit 2023, which took place in Rome, Italy, from July 13 to 15. This global summit brought together about 40 student leaders from around the world to increase the sustainability of universities through concrete actions.

The main goal of the summit was to encourage students to develop proposals that could contribute to the sustainable development of universities. Participants were divided into working groups to discuss and propose projects aimed at addressing this important issue.

The following topics were discussed during the event:

universities as agents of change;

educating global citizens capable of playing an active role in ensuring a just and peaceful existence;

digital citizenship.

As part of the summit, students had the opportunity to present their initiatives to the jury of experts appointed by the organizers. The competition was fierce, with young people demonstrating their innovative and practical ideas.

To ensure that the students were properly prepared for the event, the organizers held a series of meetings called "The SLGS Onboarding Experience". During the meetings, the young people received basic information about the Global Student Leadership Summit and its supporting organization, IASAS. They also discussed the specific issues necessary for effective work in small groups and the creation of the final presentation.

Anastasia Matviiishyn, Anna Knysh, and Anastasia Melnychuk demonstrated exceptional engagement and critical thinking.

The IASAS 2023 Global Student Leadership Summit in Rome was a platform for young leaders to demonstrate their ability to drive positive change. The experience and insights gained by our girls during this event will undoubtedly inspire and motivate others to take action.
