As part of the "Greening of the Planet" project, students and teachers of B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of WUNU, together with the Honorary Consul of Hungary in Ternopil Tetiana Chubak, joined the eco-initiative and planted sakura trees.

In 2020, the global Greening of Ukraine project was launched and successfully completed with the planting of more than 3 million trees. The following year, in 2021, the global eco-initiative Greening of the Planet was launched, which has become successful in 100 countries.

The project is organized by the Greening of Ukraine Charitable Foundation, founded by Hanna Krysiuk, President of Business Woman Club, and Serhii Haidaichuk, President of CEO Club Ukraine, with the support of more than 50 partners from around the world, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, and the State Agency of Forest Resources of Ukraine. In 2023, the organizers plan to focus on raising funds to help IDPs and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as to start the eco-recovery of Ukraine in the de-occupied territories.

Speaking about the initiative, Honorary Consul of Hungary in Ternopil Tetiana Chubak said: "The first global campaign "1 Million Trees of Life" will be launched on International Mother Earth Day, during which the organizers plan to plant 1 million trees in more than 30 countries. Teleconferences will also be held in several countries and regions of Ukraine to raise funds for reconnaissance drones within the international project "1000 Drones for Ukraine"."

"Together with the students of West Ukrainian National University, we support eco-initiatives, because it is important to draw the attention of Ukrainians to environmental issues, to give new life and green our country," said Iryna Ivashchuk, director of B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations.
