It is no secret that the issue of training highly professional negotiation and mediation specialists has been gaining momentum since the adoption of the Law on Mediation in Ukraine. Therefore, WUNU Education and Research Institute of Communications is actively involved in the development of nonviolent communication and is rapidly building new platforms for development in this area, combining the knowledge and practical experience of teachers and practicing mediators from different countries of the world.

In this context, a working meeting of representatives of three countries - Ukraine, the Netherlands and Scotland was recently organized by the School of Negotiations and Mediation of the ERIC. The director of the institute oOksana Koval, rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, honorary professor of West Ukrainian National University Jan van Zwieten and the head of the mediation and dispute resolution programme of the University of Aberdeen, professor Derek Auchie, took part in the meeting. Tetiana Podkovenko, associate professor at WUNU, and Anastasia Martynevych, assistant to director of ERIC, joined the discussion.

The parties are preparing to sign an agreement on cooperation between universities and have agreed on joint scientific and practice-oriented projects. Already in February, joint lectures and practical platforms will be held for students of the "Psychology of Negotiations and Mediation" educational programme of WUNU and the "Mediation" programme of the University of Aberdeen. A number of joint scientific studies in the field of mediation are also planned: the involvement of the University of Aberdeen together with the Netherlands Business Academy in the co-organization of the International School of World Educational Practices "New Way", scientific conferences of the ERIC, the international university consortium "MEDIATS", the implementation of joint grant projects, the involvement of Scottish experts in the team of teachers of the "Psychology of negotiations and mediation" programme of WUNU.
