WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 The opening of the International Symposium "Project Norway - Ukraine" (NUPASS) as a model of social and professional adaptation of veterans took place in Kyiv. Prospects for integration into the state system of Ukraine". Representatives of West Ukrainian National University: Vice-Rector for International Affairs Oksana Desyatnyuk, Director of the International Center for Culture and Development Oksana Shandruk and Chairman of the NGO "Educational and Social Innovations" Roman Kulyk participated.

The event was attended by Minister of Education and Science Serhiy Shkarlet. The symposium participants discussed the results of cooperation with the International Charitable Foundation "International Fund for Social Adaptation", the Ministry of Veterans Affairs, international organizations, partners and executors of the NUPASS project to integrate models of social and professional adaptation of servicemen, veterans and their families. Oksana Desyatnyuk told the audience about the peculiarities of the programme in small towns, the association of veterans and their families into cooperatives for joint agrarian business, and the regional model for providing a range of services.

Also during the meeting a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed. It focuses on protecting the rights and interests of veterans, their families and families of deceased, facilitating psychological and legal assistance, social adaptation, organization of vocational guidance.
