Round table "Directions of cooperation of public authorities and local governments of Ukraine on social and professional adaptation of war veterans"

 With the support of the International Foundation for Social Adaptation, the Classical University of Ternopil organized a round table "Directions of cooperation of public authorities and local governments of Ukraine on social and professional adaptation of war veterans" with the participation of state authorities and local governments within the framework of the signed agreement with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine. The event was moderated by the rector of West Ukrainian National University Andriy Krysovatyy.


Since 2015, our higher education institution has been providing retraining for retired servicemen and their families under the Norway-Ukraine project, which is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway.


Several distinguished guests contributed to the discussion, namely Volodymyr Rubtsov (President of the Foundation for Social Adaptation), Mykola Kaziuk (Head of the Department of the Ministry of Veterans in Ternopil region), Volodymyr Sulyma (Head of the Department of Social Policy of Ternopil City Council), Volodymyr Rosolovskyi (Deputy Director of the Department of Social Protection of Ternopil Regional State Administration), Volodymyr Petrovskyi (Head of Saranchukivska Territorial Community), Vasyl Oleshchuk (Director of Ternopil Regional Employment Center), Nataliia Brych (Head of the Department of Vocational Training of Ternopil Regional Employment Center), Nadiia Babii (Deputy Head of the Social Policy Department of Ternopil City Council, Head of the Department of Veterans and Persons with Disabilities).


The meeting was also attended by the heads of UTCs, community leaders, heads of departments, divisions, centers, chief specialists, military, executive directors of NGOs, members of NGOs and teaching staff of WUNU.


The round table discussed a set of measures for social and professional adaptation of war veterans, their inclusion in the programme of economic and social development of territorial communities, a plan to assist their employment, and the organization of vocational training in Ternopil region.
