A touching environmental campaign called ‘Preserve the memory — decorate the city!’ was launched in Ternopil. This initiative was organised by the Ternopil City Association of the All-Ukrainian Taras Shevchenko Prosvita Society in cooperation with the West Ukrainian National University and the Ivan Puluj Ternopil Vocational College.

The event took place in Topilche Park, near the monument to Myroslav Lutsyshyn, the youngest Sich Rifleman, who became a symbol of sacrifice and youthful courage. Participants planted flowers, which not only decorated the park but also became a living testimony to respect for the past and care for the present.

Among those present were: Head of the Office of Personal Developent and Fine Arts of WUNU - Svitlana Sorochynska, Head of Ternopil ‘Prosvita’ - Nataliia Turchyn, prominent members of the community: Iryna Shumada, Halyna Shot, Olha Spilnichenko, specialists from the Office of Personal Development and Fine Arts Maria Haida and Myroslava Buryk, as well as students of WUNU and other concerned young people.

This initiative clearly demonstrated how the joint efforts of educators, students and the community can not only preserve historical memory, but also make our city more beautiful, cleaner and more inspiring. The flowers planted near the monument symbolise respect for the past and faith in the future.

The organizers thanked all participants and expressed their hope that such events would become a good tradition for Ternopil.
