The European Olympic Committees (EOC) have announced the names of the five finalists for the Piotr Nurowski Award, which will honor the best young athlete in winter sports in Europe for the eighth time.

The European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championships among athletes under the age of 23 are underway in Bucharest, Romania. Eduard Strelchuk, a student of West Ukrainian National University, won a bronze medal in the 55 kg weight category.

On February 25-26, the Warsaw European Judo Open Cup was held in Poland. Mykhailo Svidrak, a student of West Ukrainian National University, won a bronze medal in under 81 weight category at this prestigious tournament.

Recently, the latest stage of the Open International Sambo Tournament among youth and adults took place in Larnaca (Cyprus). The competition gathered representatives of 14 countries. Students of West Ukrainian National University successfully performed at the tournament.
